Fed: Andrews applauds long delay in AIRC wage case

The ACTU suffered a setback yesterday .. with the Industrial Relations Commission delaying
moves to have it consider one final national wage case .. for about 10 months.

The federal government's welcomed the decision .. as it wants minimum wages to be set
in the future by its new Australian Fair Pay Commission .. due to be launched late next
year.

ACTU president SHARAN BURROW's told ABC radio it shows the HOWARD government's now
happy to impose an 18-month wage freeze on working families.
