FED:Penny Wong thanks delegates

SYDNEY, Dec 3 AAP - Senator Penny Wong has thanked Labor party delegates for voting
in favour of same-sex marriage.

Senator Wong said the "man and woman" in the street would recognise the decision taken
at the Australian Labor Party's national conference in Sydney on Saturday.

She said it was now a matter for Opposition Leader Tony Abbott to show the same respect
for marriage equality.

"The real politics now of getting the reform through are in Tony Abbott's court," she
told reporters.
