Vic: Work bans lifted at Austin Health network

A compromise has been reached at Melbourne's Austin Health network after workers met
to consider whether to escalate work bans.

Elective surgery at the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal
Talbot Rehabilitation Centre had been disrupted when about 100 workers held a mass meeting
to discuss working conditions.

Theatre technicians, instrument technicians, nurses, nursing attendants, pathology
assistants, ward clerks and food/domestic staff all attended the meeting.

The Health Services Union says workers had been fed up with management's refusal to
meet basic nurse and staff entitlements.

But a compromise has been was reached after Austin Health management agreed to pay
division two nurses and pathology lab assistants an improved wage.
