Fed: Chief scientist queries state science battle
Australia's chief scientist says the states need to cooperate more and compete lessin scientific research and development.
The Queensland parliament has hosted 200 of the state's top scientists for an all-dayforum to discuss links between the scientific and political spheres.
Australia's chief scientist Dr ROBIN BATTERHAM says collaboration is needed, ratherthan competition.
Dr BATTERHAM says Australia should be focusing on achieving a net brain gain.
Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE's told the forum he wants to see scientists workingmore closely with politicians to deliver solutions for industry, society and the environment.
