FED: Howard to wrap up tour with National Textiles meeting

COFFS HARBOUR, Feb 4 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard will wrap up his regional tour
by meeting a delegation of National Textiles workers and unionists in a bid to broker
a safety net package.

Last month more than 300 workers lost their jobs at National Textiles Rutherford plant
in the Hunter Valley.

They were told by company creditors they would receive only $7 million of the $11 million
redundancy package owed to them over two years.
