Fed: Enough being spent on indigenous health: Wooldridge

MELBOURNE, April 19 AAP - Federal Health Minister Dr Michael Wooldridge today rejected
a call from Australian of the Year Sir Gustav Nossal to spend more on Aboriginal health.

Sir Gustav Nossal, who is the deputy chair of Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation,
yesterday called for an extra $20 million to be spent each year on indigenous health.

"Well, we're actually spending more than that," Dr Wooldridge said.

"The amount of money we're spending on indigenous health has gone up over 50 per cent
since we've been in government," Dr Wooldridge said.

Dr Wooldridge said the federal government's increased spending had already improved
Aboriginal health.
